Hi all,

I have just installed two

SG200-26 26-Port Gigabit Smart Switch

The reason these have been put in is becasue randomly the network runs very slow. I was wondering if there where any tools our there that would let me check the Cisco switches for any ports sending excessive packets / drops etc.

Thanks,

Danny

Danny,

You'd need to enable snmp support in order to poll interfaces, and this switch apparently may not support it:

If you decide to go with something that does support snmp, you could use something like Solarwinds Orion or MRTG to be able to poll interfaces. I don't have experience with these switches, but you may have a web interface that you can get into to view port statistics as well.

HTH,
John
