We wants to setup our network. At head off we hv 40users & we hv factory at two locations. What all equipents we required like router with how many serial port at head off. Which link is suitable for us etc etc. pls guide me.
You would probably need a router each at head office and the 2 factory locations. It depends on what kind of connectivity you are looking for between the sites. If you have some business critical applications that you want a 24x7 access then you can go for a leased line connectivity between the sites say 128 or 256 KB and you can use ISDN as backup.
If distance is not much then you can also go for wireless connectivity between the sites. You can also got for ISDN BRI as primary connectivity between the sites if traffic is not much. If you dont have much users at the factory sites you can go for Cisco 2800 series ISR routers with intergrated Etherswitch module and have the router do both the WAN and LAN part for you.
Lte is know your more inputs on this and we will guide you accordingly.
U need to use serial ports on your router to connected WAN i.e u r lease line.
Which router u r going to use depends upon the amount of traffic you are going to pass between these sites. If there are few users like 40 or 50 u can well go ahead with a 2600 series router.
which kind of connectivity u want. Here u can have both of ur factory sites connected to head office this is one solution for this u might require 2 lease lines.
are u r factories near to each other.if they then u can connect the 2 factories with each other n connect one of the factory to head office.in this way u will need only one lease line from u r factory to head office.
If you are going for Leased Line it depends on what kind of termination is your ISP droping. generally they use LL modems and give you a serial interface output. If that is the case then minimum you need 2 serial interfaces on the router at each site. You can go for 2811 routers at all the sites. Cisco 1841/2801 router can also be used but it doesnot have a NM module to accomodate various NMs offered by Cisco like IPS Network Module, Wireless Network module, Etherswitch NM.
From Factory's to the HO you will connect via Leased line and if you want a Hub and Spoke network then that should take care of it. If you want to connect your factory's directly as well then you can go for some other technology like wireless connectivity between the sites/isdn. It all depends on the connectivity offered by ISP. So Please talk to your ISP and then finalize it. We can design it anyway the connectivity provided by the ISP.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
