Being the first time I have worked on these is all you have to do to manage the box is like any other switch where you just create a SVI with an address and add the default static pointing to the gateway ?   These are a little different that's for sure.

Glen,

Yes these switches are a little different.  To answer your question you can set the IP like this:

hostname [hostname]

ip host [hostname] [IP ADDRESS]

ip route 0.0.0.0/0 [gateway]

These are just some of the basics to get you going.  I hope this helps.

Thanks and Cheers!

Kimberly

Yeah we are just seeing some strange stuff , we have 2 nexus 5000's connected via the peer links.  Have an SVi vlan 712 on both configured with different addresses in the same range going to a couple of firewalls which is the gateway for that  Network management space.  For some reason we can only get to one of the 5000's at a time and can't figure out why at this point .   5000's are peered ok from what i can tell and all fex's look ok.
