Nexus 5500 and DCI vPC

Hi,

I try to setup a DCI between two DC, each DC have two nexus 5548

DCI is supported on nexus 5500 ?

I use the vPC design, the same vPC between the two DC, the below link is for Nx 7K

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/design/vpc_design/vpc_best_practices_design_guide.pdf

I have the nexus NX1 and NX2 on DC1, NX3 and NX4 on DC2

NX1 is connected NX3 and NX2 is connected to NX2

the vpc remains down with different errors form each side :

* from DC1, the two nexus claim "vpc port channel mis-config due to vpclinks in the 2 switches connected to different partners"

* from DC2, NX3 see the  vpc ok and NX4 see it down

I can give more details if needed

thanks in advance for any information

Nexus 5500 and DCI vPC

Hi,

This should be supported setup. Are you doing double site vPC? Meaning NX1 and NX3 are in one vPC domain; NX2 and NX4 are in one vPC domain. vPC domain 1 nd vPC domain 2 are connected via vPC link? What links do you have between the datacenter?

Re: Nexus 5500 and DCI vPC

Hi,

Would you please post the configurations that you are using in the N5K devices for the links that would be connecting both DC?

In addition, would you please post the following outputs.

show vpc brief

sh vpc consistency-parameters interface ethernet x/x

Regards,

Robert Rodriguez
