Nexus 7010 - port channel group - Help

I have a Nexus 7010 switch with (3) 2248 Fex.

I have created several Port Channel groups,on one of the 2248s for VMware hosts that are in my environment.  The 2 primary network interfaces (on each host) are in their own channel group, and the standby is running to another one of the 2248s.

Issue arises:  I was having some config issues on a new VM host build and decided to run a shut on the interfaces that were in po channel i had created.

The shut was ran only on the 2 interfaces that were in the port channel group, that ran back to the VM host that was being built.

The first interface had a shut ran on it, and the traffic was routed to the 2nd interface.  Once the shut command was ran on the 2nd interface (of the port channel), I lost connectivity to my putty session and users in my bldg lost connectivity to all servers (that are running throught the 7010 and 2248s).

Consoled into the 7010 and run "no shuts" on the interfaces and connevity was restored for users.

Any ideas?

I have worked with Cisco TAC and I have sent over full logs and the engineer says the commands entered should have not caused this to happen.

My next option is to get with Cisco during a window and issue the commands and show what happens.

(I apologize before hand if this solution has been published and i over looked it..just looking for some help.)

Thanks,  KP
