Nexus 7K Power Requirements

Hello,

I apologize if this is clearly documented somewhere but I was not able to find an answer. I have a couple Nexus 7ks with 6kW PSUs installed and 30a/208v whips under the cabinet. I know the 7.5kW PSUs require 30A circuits and thus ship with the NEMA 6L-30 cord option. What I can't determine is will the 6kW PSUs run on 30A AC circuits and if so will the same NEMA 6L-30 cord designed for the 7.5kW PSUs work on the 6kW PSUs?

Thanks,

-Matt

Re: Nexus 7K Power Requirements

Hello Matt,

6 KW power supplies have different AC inputs and use different cables

see

7,5 KW

IEC 60309 for INT

NEMA L6-30 for US

there are also pictures showing clearly the AC inputs have different shapes

We have recently installed two

Re: Nexus 7K Power Requirements

Giuseppe,

Good point. And it does not appear Cisco makes a power cord for the 6kW PSU with the NEMA 6L-30 plug type on the far end. Thanks for your input.
