Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help with the issue I am facing. We have 3850 access switches connected via fiber to Nexus 93180YC-EX at distribution layer. Sometimes we run into issue that Nexus is err disabling its port due to UDLD Empty Echo problem. Here is the log after shut/no shut:
2018 May 21 13:57:55 NIT-BW1-1-Q14-INC-CAB01-RSW01 %UDLD-4-UDLD_PORT_DISABLED: Interface Ethernet1/33, link error detected: empty echo.
2018 May 21 13:58:02 NIT-BW1-1-Q14-INC-CAB01-RSW01 %ETH_PORT_CHANNEL-5-PORT_SUSPENDED: Ethernet1/33: Ethernet1/33 is suspended
2018 May 21 13:58:02 NIT-BW1-1-Q14-INC-CAB01-RSW01 %ETHPORT-5-IF_DOWN_ERROR_DISABLED: Interface Ethernet1/33 is down (Error disabled. Reason:UDLD empty echo)
I tried to remove UDLD, in that case the port is LACP suspended. This issue occurred after powering down the electricity in a whole building. The last time the issue occurred, we replaced the 3850 switch (the issue disappeared). The funny thing is that the 3850 which caused the issue with UDLD (i tried to replace SFPs, patch cables, ports) was without any issue in a lab.. In general, the issue occurred 3 times and we don't know how to solve it. Maybe it's a bug behavior.
NXOS version 7.0(3)I5(2)
3850 IOS: cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.03.E.152-2.E3.bin
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
