NIC Teaming Win 2012

     Hello

     Refer to the Attatched Drawing to Get More info about the Design

     i have one server 2 NIC having one IP using Windwos Server 2012 NIC Teaming IP 172.16.1.10

     connected them to 2 Seprated SW WS-C2960-24TC-L

     both SWs are Connected to L3 SW & ISP

     to allow the Server to Reach the Internet i have to Shutdwon of the 2 SW or configure one of the NICs to be Stand by and the Other One is Acive

     any idea and i need to know Why ??/

Hi,

NIC teaming will not work since the 2960 switches are not stacked.  If your switches are 2960s, they are stackable.  Once the switches are stacked, NIC team will work.

hi

yes i know that but what is the main reason for that is it for mac address or something eles

i tested with Dual  WS-4948-S and it Work Fine 2 Active NICs

Hi Ahmad,

I dont think this will work with low end switch.if you feel problem with failover....you can try this with two switches.
