There is a 1GB link between a C6509 and a C3550, When I do a 'show cdp nei', i do not see the link/connection at all.

There are other connections on the C6509 and C3550 going to other switches and routers and I can see them all on the 'sh cdp neig'

Cdp neig is not disabled. Is this enabled as per interface?

Please help.

Thanks

Hi Friend,

Yes CDP can be enabled globally and can be disabled on a particular interface also.

So post the config of the related ports and will confirm you.

Hi Friend,

Can you confirm if the cdp is enabled on that particular interface betwen 6509 and 3550?

Regards,

Ankur

Thanks

Is cdp enabled per interface or globally. How can I check this out. They are both running Cisco IOS.

Thanks

Thanks both of you very much. I thought it was only used globally. I have turned it on on the interface and it is fine now.

Thanks

Hi friend,

Check whether CDP is enabled on the interface connecting between your switches.

CDP might have been enabled globally but the configuration on the interface takes precedence.

HTH, rate if it does,

Narayan

Thanks. I have enabled it on the interface and it works now.
