NTP limitations C6500Sup7203B

Hello,

we are planing to migrate our NTP infrastructure from a server based to a network based solution.

Therefore I'm looking for guidelines or recommendations, how many ntp clients a Cat6500Sup7203B can handle reliable (or better how many ntp requests per second).

We have about 4000 devices (server, switches and routers) that will act as NTP client.

Thanks

Hendrik

All devices don't have to go back to a single device for ntp . If you have the common core distribution ,access model you can have the distribution boxes pull their time from the core , the access boxes can then pull their time from the distribution boxes instead of having it traverse the entire network to get its time . NTP is a very efficient protocol and doesn't require a lot of packet traffic to sync .
