ntp access-group serve-only 10

access-list 10 permit 10.10.2.2

CLIENT:

ntp server 10.10.1.1 source loopback 0

ntp update-calendar

*** both routers can ping eachother's ip address 100/100. tried both loopback and physical addresses.

here is out put of show ntp stat on the CLIENT:

Clock is unsynchronized, stratum 16, no reference clock

nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0182 Hz, precision is 2**24

reference time is 00000000.00000000 (00:00:00.000 UTC Mon Jan 1 1900)

clock offset is 0.0000 msec, root delay is 0.00 msec

root dispersion is 0.00 msec, peer dispersion is 0.00 msec

Is 10.10.1.1 the fa0/1 address on the server? Is 10.10.2.2 the loop back address on the client?

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

Yes.

10.10.1.1   F0/1  Server

10.10.2.2   Lo0 Client

Hope it Helps!

Soroush.

access-list 10 permit 10.10.2.2

Let's keep it nice and simple first.  Get rid of this line temporarily.

ntp master 5

Get rid of this.  Cisco don't recommend using this command

I did that without the access-list no luck, did do it with the master 5 thou, but its a requirement to do Stratum 5!

i'll try it after the weekend thou.

thx Leo.

Hope it Helps!

Can you post the output to the command "sh ntp a"?

How is your NTP time synchronize?
