NX 7000 routing

Rosa Ladeira

I am migrating backbone equipaments.

Now, I have a 6509-E routing backbone and a NX 7000 as a swtich.

Next step is exchange functions.

NX 7000 routing backbone and 6509-E as a slave switch.

Is it enough to set :

ip route 0.0.0.0/0  XXXX,XXXX.XXXX.XXXX

or should I enable any extra  feature ?

Thnaks,

Rosa

Rosa,

If the NK7 is functioning a Layer-2 device, then that is all you should need. Default route will forward everything to the 6500.

Hi Rosa,

Which device router/switch is handling all routing to that router IP you need to point your default router (gateway last resort).

So in your case if you changed the routing backbone from 6500 to NX7000 then in your 6500 point the default route to the NX7000 IP.
