As the title suggests I have an orange status LED on the switch. Also, the unoccupied ports in the middle of the switch are solid orange(ports 8-17, with the exception of 9 which has no orange light).
I have been unable to determine the cause of this on my own. The switch is on IOS Version 12.1(22)EA10.
Currently it is running fairly stable with the exception of the lights. The used ports are functional and not losing any packets.
The switch did restart on its own a couple of months ago, however. The command "show logging" displays the following:

Does anyone have any insight to this issue?
Thanks.

Could mean anything.
Firstly, if you have a crashinfo file it would be worthwhile if you post it.
Secondly, your IOS is EA10. Didn't this IOS got pulled out of the Cisco IOS Download page because it was a "dune" buggy???
Try upgrading to the EA10a and see if there is improvements.
Hope this helps.

I wasn't aware about the buggy IOS. I'll have to look into trying an upgrade. Thanks for the suggestion.

I forgot to ask also- do you have a recommended IOS to upgrade to?
07-20-2009 02:48 PM
The crashinfo file isn't helpful. EA10 was pulled out and replaced by the EA10a. You may want to try that.
Before you upgrade, I recommend you read the release notes and do some testing with the IOS of your choice.
