osi layer.

Hi folks,

Can any body give full clear info about below question.

1. In which layer of the OSI mode error detection & correction will happen?

2. What about the CIDR?

3. What will VLSM do?

1. Layer 2 is it Datalink Layaer only.

2. yes I want info about CIDR only like how it will work and use of it.

1.Error detection is done at Layer2.Error correction may ge done at this layer.Howerver it is the resoponsiblity of the layer4 to do error correction.

2.Classless interdomain routing, is the standard based interpretation of the ip address in the form A.B.C.D/n where n=number of bits in the network portion of the address.
