OSPF advice

hi all,

i would like an advice on OSPF design.

i have got to implement OSPF within our network and i am not really sure what design to go for.

OSPF will be running between two 7206 edge routers, two 4506 switches and two nokia firewall.

i was wondering if the best solution is to create only a single area for this design, or an hierarchical design is always preferred even in small network.

See attached for some details

thank you for your support.

It is not necessarily true that hierarchial design is always preferred. It is really a matter of scaling (hierarchial design do scale better) and in a small network a hierarchial multi-area design may be overkill. I have looked at your diagram and believe that given the small size and the way devices are interconnected that the best design for you is single area oSPF.
