Hi if I change the ospf throttle timers and ispf globally, will it effect production?
I want to move from campus Layer2 to Layer3 routed topology on my campus network so wonder if these commands will effect production network or do I have to schedule a downtime.
ospf 100
ispf
timers throttle spf 10 100 5000
timers throttle lsa all 10 100 5000
timers lsa arrival

Timer throttle LSA manages time it takes since timestamp when event is detected till LSA is generated.
Timer throttle SPF manages time it takes since change in the network is detected till SPF stars.

Hello Tony,
I think that setting these commands shouldn't have an impact.
These are timers to optimize OSPF behaviour about reaction time to topology change and how to send out new LSA information, so a mismatch on them can't cause an OSPF adjacency to be broken as it would be a change in hello interval or dead interval.
However, it is a good idea to have them configured the same on all routers in the long term
Hope to help
Giuseppe
