2) before connecting a new switch to production network you need to be sure you have zero-ed the VTP revision number. To do this you can use:
changing vtp domain name to a dummy name
changing vtp mode to transparent.
change vtp domain name to production name
change vtp mode to desired one client or server.
check vtp revision number with
sh vtp status
it should be zero.
Notice that contrary to common belief also connecting a new client switch requires care.

OSPF process =
an OSPF instance running on the router it is associated to a node unique process-id (and integer)
multiple OSPF processes with different process-ids (and different router-ids) can run on a router.
OSPF states =
one possible meaning is a reference to OSPF neighbor stare machine
OSPF doesn't send or accept routing updates from devices that haven't reached a certain state.
normal states are:
FULL/- on a serial or point -to point link
FULL/DR or FULL/BDR full adiacency on a LAN.
2way/DRother normal between two devices that are not DR or BDR on the segment.
OSPF makes a clear distinction between:
neighbors devices in a common subnet with matching OSPF parameters (area-id, area flags, timers)
adjacent, fully adjacent devices: devices that have really exchanged and synchronized the OSPF database for the area the link belongs to.
on a LAN segment all devices sync with DR and BDR in an effort to reduce protocol activity.
