Packet buffer failure error on 6509

I have started seeing lots of these errors and found that only solution is to reset the module. Have any seen this and is there any fix other than resetting the module. Looks like we have increasing number of these errors in the recent past.

Thanks.

I recommend opening a ticket with Cisco. It can be a number of things but it sounds like it's hardware related. Cisco can help you with a replacement of the affected hardware.

Well we replaced the hardware but problem still persist and the only way to fix the problem is to reset and if 10 ports out of 48 are errdisabled you still have to bring all the ports down when you reset the module. There gotta a way to fix it.

Monitor it with SNMP. See if there are any interface errors relating to something connected to it. Check utilizations (cpu/interface/over subscription)

If you think it's traffic related based on SNMP stats, you can alway turn on netflow to find the flow details
