Hello

Nortel telephony server is installed at HQ and smaller version of telephony is installed at Branch offices.

QOS is needed to gurantee voice traffic. Branch office connects to HQ over private MPLS.

Before QOS, I would need to understand the traffic / ports used between two nortel voice server.

To achieve this do I need to capture traffic from the switch and read in wireshark.

what steps i need for qos ( step II )

do Help

While doing a packet capture and using Wireshark to examine the traffic is certainly one approach, I would suggest that there is a more simple and less complex way to understand the traffic. You can enable NetFlow on the router interfaces and let NetFlow help you identify the addresses, protocols, and ports of the traffic.
