Hello Guys,
I was supposed to easily go thru a password recovery this morning. Bad news for my team: It did not work.
I am doing remote support. Switch is a 3750 running image c3750-IPSERVICESK9-M ver 12.2(50)SE. A stack composed of 4 members.
Load_Helper was not in the available command list but I read it was not necessary to execute it (would be there otherwise, I guess).
I did the flash_init, the .text renaming to. old and then issued boot... I was optimist until the boot completed and a login prompt came up!
So I moved a step backwards and got into switch or rommon mode again, issue: My renamed config file was there, plus a new and fresh config.text!!!
So what is the cisco doc missing here? Shall I do the recovery while connected to the Master switch otherwise it won't work?
Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi David,
Yes, you must perform the password recovery procedure while connected to the stack master switch.
I'm not sure which document you were referring to, but the one I linked does mention this in step 1. It's certainly possible that one or more of the many that are out there could be missing that information.
Hope that helps,
Bobby

Hello Bobby,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
The doc I was using is the following: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_password_recovery09186a0080094184.shtml
Thanks again!
