Please help with question 'copy tftp flash'

Hi, I am getting a time out when trying to copy tftp flash. If the remote tftp server requires authentication (I suspect that is the problem but I am not sure), is there any way to get authenticated first then do 'copy tftp flash' to avoid the error below? Please see ouput below showing that I have connectvity to tftp server just fine.

ciscoswitch#copy tftp flash

Address or name of remote host []? 10.1.1.1

Source filename []? c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin

Destination filename [c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin]?

Accessing tftp://10.1.1.1/c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin...

%Error opening tftp://10.1.1.1/c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin (Timed out)

ciscoswitch#ping 10.1.1.1

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.1.1.1, timeout is 2 seconds:

Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 4/5/8 ms

On 10.1.1.1:

unixtftp# ls -l

Re: Please help with question 'copy tftp flash'

Hi Marlon,

What is the permission on /tftpboot? I don't believe there is any option to specify tftp with authentication.

HTH,

jerry

Thanks! I had to fix permissions on the Unix host.
