I got a 2960 switch that iam trying to apply the fallowing policy map to the output of an interface, then i get the fallowing error: Switch(config-if)#service-policy output test

police command is not supported for this interface

Configuration failed!

Warning: Assigning a policy map to the output side of an interface not suppor

ted

here is the policy map it self:

policy-map test

class class-default

police 15000000 1000000 exceed-action drop

if I set this policy as input it works fine, but why is not outsut supported? Do I need a better IOS or doesnt this platform support output policy at all?

Hi,

AFAIK you can only attach inbound policy-maps to the 2960 switch ports.

HTH, please do rate all helpful replies,

Mohammed Mahmoud.
