Port down, POE showing applied to port

Hi,

I have a situation where two of my CGS-2520-16S-8PC switches are not applying POE power to the copper ports, but showing power inline, two ports are showing power applied. Shutting down the port and re-enabling it will return the port to normal and the phone will connect.

I'm running cgs2520-lanbasek9-mz.122-58.EY2 after using 122-58-se1. Happening on both, but i have more switches running EY2 with no issues at the moment.

Using DC power supply averaging around 53v.

Thanks,

Andrew

If port goes down and then comes up after you enable it, it could be a port security issue, not relating to poe settings.

Check port security settings.

Hope this helps

hi

No port security on this switch yet.

Thanks

Andrew

How is your power inline configured? auto, static, never?

Did you try to set the power inline to static on a port?

Choose a port that will have an ip phone attached and shut it down, config "power inline static" with no value,( switch will automatically allocate 15.4W max) then open the port again.

Also can you post the output of "show power inline consumption" and "show interface "

I see that you get power on Fa0/17. Do you have ip phones connected to other 7 ports? Is cdp enabled on those ports?

Are the ip phones Cisco? If they are not, you should set the power inline to static.
