Port Security behaviour with CatOS and IOS

Is there a difference between the Port Security feature between the CatOS and IOS?

I remembered that older switches will not flush out the secured mac address when the PC is disconnected from the switch. However, in the newer switches, the mac address will be flushed out unless it is configured statically or using sticky option.

Is this correct?

You can use port security to block input to an Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, or Gigabit Ethernet port when the MAC address of the station attempting to access the port is different from any of the MAC addresses specified for that port. This is how both CATOS and IOS works.
