power command

Can anyone explain to me how does below command line been applied to the Cisco switch?

           power redundancy-mode redundant

Hi Lim,

Say for ex. You have only one power supply and assume that your modules need more power then you can run a mode
combined (by installing another supply)

power redundancy-mode combined

and suppose you have two power supply then by default mode is redundant. meaning at a time one power supply is suppling power and incase of failure
another power supply can take over.

To forcefully set status you can issue below command

power redundancy-mode redundant

Issue command "show power supplies" and if output is like

"Power supplies needed by system :1" >>>system is in redundant mode
"Power supplies needed by system :2" >>>system is in combined mode

In your above statement, you mentioned that in order to provide the sufficient power to the module we need to install two power supplies and issue comamnd power redundancy-mode combined, then only that the two power supplies can provide the power to the modules at the same times?

If the comamnd power redundancy-mode combined is not enabled, then we can say that only one power supply can provide power, while the other one is just for backup (we need to issue command power redundancy-mode redundant in order the other power supply can act as backup?).

Correct me if I am wrong. TQ
