Hi all,

Currently I am using 1000W power supply in Cisco 4500 and I want to upgrade to 2800W power supply. My question is

1) Whether I have to change the power cord while upgrading power supply

2)Whether power cord comes along with the Power Supply while ordering from Cisco

Regards,

Avs

Greetings Avs,

Typically yes, you will need a different power cord when changing the PSU to a higher output model. The specific cord requirements are listed in the Hardware Installation Guide here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/hardware/installation/guide/78-14409-08/02pspg.html#wp1025393

As the power cords vary by location, I believe they need to be ordered as a separate part to the PSU. Your Cisco Account Team or Reseller can confirm that point.

Kind Regards,

/Phil
