Power Supply Upgrade of Production 6500s

We have a 6500 switch that currently has two 3000w PS and we would like to upgrade both to 6000w. Has anyone done this before and was there any impact. If we replace the first 3000w first and replace it with 6000w PS, will this cause any problems since one is running 3000w and the other is 6000w? Another concern is if assuming different watts of PS works, will it failover to 6000w once the last 3000w PS is pulled out? Any reply is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello. When we upgraded our power supplies on 6506, we didn't have any problems. Just wait until the new PS becomes operational (all LEDs ok, syslog says that everything is ok, and check "show environment power" command output), and then replace the second one.

But don't delay, as system does something depending on your set up.

Here are the actions:

And here is the procedure:

Standard turn off, unscrew, replace, connect, power on...

Hope this helps.
