Prioritizing UDP over TCP using QoS

Hello All,

I'm trying to prioritize UDP traffic over TCP traffic for a WAN overseas. I've decided to go with the access-list option to prioritize UDP. The commands I've used so far are:

class-map match-all UDP

match access-group 101

class-map match-all tcp

match access-group 102

!

!

policy-map UDP-THEN-TCP

class UDP

  set ip precedence 1

However, I am unable to do the following:

policy-map UDP-THEN-TCP

class UDP

    priority percent 30  ---> my 3560 doesn't give me this option, why?

These are my actual commands:

3560X(config)#poli

3560X(config)#policy-map UDP-THEN-TCP

3560X(config-pmap)#cl

3560X(config-pmap)#class UDP

3560X(config-pmap-c)#prir

                      ^

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

3560X(config-pmap-c)#?

QoS policy-map class configuration commands:

  exit            Exit from QoS class action configuration mode

  no              Negate or set default values of a command

  police          Police

  service-policy  Configure QoS Service Policy

  set             Set QoS values

  trust           Set trust value for the class

  <cr>

3560X(config-pmap-c)#

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, read your IOS version's reference manual and configuration guide's chapter on QoS.

You appear to be trying to use "router" QoS.  3560-X doesn't support egress polices like a router does.
