Hi, I would like to know what does the file flas:private-configuration.text contain and how can I read it, as using "more" command, an error regarding bad permissions appears.
Is it part of my config.text (startup-configuration) information? How can i manage it?
Thanks,
Regards,

Hello,
There are many parameters, such as the private keys and SNMPv3 user passwords that must be
kept private to the switch. All these security parameters are stored in the private-config.text file.To make the file more secure, the solution devised to address this need was to deny the user the ability to read the file containing this "private" information.
You cannot read the contents of this file and cannt backup this file.
HTH,Please rate if it does.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. But even if I am the owner of the switch, I am not allowed to read it?
You mean that these parameters, once I configure them, they are kept in this file and not in the running config, or startup?
Thanks once more,
Regards,
Jor

Jor,
You cannot read this file.By default, this file is private-config.text, though this may be changed with the "boot private-config-file" command in configuration mode.
HTH,Please rate if it does.
