problem with Express 500

I have 8 Express500 tunked to 3550[100meg trunk] ,

DHCP Server is connected to 3550, there is only 1 vlan which span across this 8 swithes .

users are finding problem with connectivity and dhcp server assignment.

when i shifted users from 2 Express 500 to a 2cisc02560 users are getting ip .

is the solution to change all the rest of the device to 2560 or to buy a new gig switch which can trunk my 500 kit.

Hi,

Have you configured smartPort (e.g. desktop) on the CE500?

I suppose spanning-tree portfast is missing.

Without portfast the workstation is hitting the "DHCP-Timeout" before the switchport is online.
