Do a dir flash: and see what is in there , you can get rid of any existing .bin files just make sure you do not turn off the switch until you get the new image into flash . If you have an image in a directory you can delete the directory with the delete /force /recursive flash: command , this will wipe out everything in that image directory . If you don't plan to use a gui interface you can delete the .html files too. To run the switch you just need a single valid switch image in flash and the corresponding correct boot statement pointing to that image . A tar file takes a lot more space , if you don't need gui use the .bin file instead . If need be post the dir flash: output here and I can tell you what to delete.
