I am trying to configure my network to do remote installation here is the configuration below

All the servers are in VLan 9

All the other vlans are configured with these command

Int vlan 2

Ip address 192.168.79.1 255.255.255.0

Ip helper-address 192.168.70.255

no ip directed broadcast

no ip redirects

Once I boot my client they get the IP address but failed with following message

PXE E55 Proxy did not respond on port 4011

I recently installed MS ADS 1.1 on a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server to test and managed to get PXE boot working. Both the DHCP Server & the RIS/ADS Server need to be configured as IP Helpers. What happens is the DHCP Server supplies the initial IP address, then the PXE client sends another DHCP request and expects a response from the RIS/ADS server. It took me a while to understand the logic (plus ADS doesn't work with 2003 SP2 without some hotfixes that you need to request from MS). I also had DHCP snooping enabled which threw me a bit as the ADS server port wasn't trusted.
