Hi All,

I'm wondering why i cannot apply qos service-poly into SVI interface if using IOS 12.4T. However, I can apply if i use 12.4 release. I check configuration guide as well as command reference on each version but cannot find this information. Could somebody please share information about this?

12.4T  (c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T10)

12.4    (c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-16a)

router2811(config-if)#service-policy output app_internal

Configuration failed!

router2811(config-if)#

I configure simple MQC as below

class-map match-all class-Test

match access-group name acl-Test-app

class-map match-all class-Production

match access-group name acl-Production

match not access-group name acl-Test-app

match not access-group name acl-File

policy-map app_internal

class class-Voip

  bandwidth percent 10

class class-Test

  bandwidth percent 10

class class-File

  bandwidth percent 10

class class-Production

  bandwidth percent 35

!

Rojer,

As per the configuration guide it is supported.

Only issue is:-

  • Service-policy on Point-to-Point Protocol over X.25 (PPPoX) interfaces is not supported.

Hi Inayath,

I got error configuration failed after i try to apply to SVI

Look like limitation of Qos on ISR router. It's not software issue.

The HWIC in the router supports limited QoS features. If you see the config failed on the later IOS release that is because the parser was updated to reject the config. Older IOS releases would allow it even if it isn't supported. Here is a whitepaper detailing what QoS features you can use.
