QoS Marking Question

Dear All,

i have a question regarding the QoS marking:

I know when we perform a QoS marking we use the ToS field in the IP Header.

But the thing that i want to know is how we can mark the other packet types like ICMP, ...

example:

access-list 102 permit icmp any any

class-map ICMP

match ip access-group 102

policy-map ICMP-MARK

class ICMP

set preced 5

so now how can the ICMP packets be marked with IP Precedence?

Thanks

I mean which field will be used to mark the ICMP or non-IP packet using the above configuration example?

ICMP is considered an integral part of IP, although it is architecturally layered upon IP.
