QOS Policer - Verification Config

My ISP has the following QOS policer command for our VLAN.  I'm not sure of the specific switch/router IOS version or CAT OS. I "think" it is a switch card in a 6500 chasis.

What is this command going to do in regards to bandwidth allowed? (I'm a little unclear on the bucket definition by the docs.)

set qos policer aggregate VLAN229 rate 10000 burst 2000 drop

From what I gather this will allow 10 Mbps and Drop anything above 12Mbps, am I correct?

Thanks,

Dan

Trippi,

Thanks, that was the original article I looked at. After re-reading it makes sense now.

.....tokens are removed at each           interval.....read as, bucket is emptied leaving just the Burst to fill the bucket which if over the burst configured is out of profile and either dropped or marked.
