Hi

I hope the persistence MAC address feature will help you out.

but you can use the " Persistense MAC address " faeture .

if you enable this then if the master goes down then by default it will keep the old mac address for 4 minutes by default.

and after the expiration of the time the MAC address will be replaced by the new stack master MAC address.

But  if you enter the command with a "0" value parameter in that case the MAC address will be there until you enter the no command.

The command is

stack-mac persistent timer 0

Note: beware of the consecuences in the production network

Plz rate it if found useful

Thanks

thank you for your relpy.

STACK MAC Persistent Timer 0 this command do impact of network (such as STP, etherchannel, routing.....) ?

Hi

it will not create a problem in normal case.

But if you are using the old master switch whose MAC address is binded in the stack in the same network.

there may be a chance of duplicate MAC address and network outage.

So to avoid this don't plug the removed master switch in the network.

plz rate this if you found it useful.

Thanks
