Question about "sh ip pim rp"

This is on a router configured as multicast RP. PIM Sparse mode and MSDP peering are used.

When I "sh ip pim rp" on the router, a couple of groups always have "RP-reachable in ..." displayed. Timer just cycles from 00:01:30 to 00:00:00.

Group: 224.0.1.39, RP: 10.132.0.9, next RP-reachable in 00:01:26

How to explain it? 10.132.0.9 is the RP address of the router.

Thanks

Gary

I think "show ip pim rp" is only useful if you have overlapping RP to Group mapping and need to check which RP the router chooses for the group. Try these commands sh ip pim rp and sh ip pim rp mapping 224.0.1.38
