Hi,
Customer is configuring udld aggressive mode with Cat6509E/WS-X6724-SFP.
Is UDLD processed with hardware(asic)? or software(CPU use)?

Hello Reiji,
UDLD is a form of signalling and UDLD frames need to be deeply inspected by the switch to detect possible link problems.
So I would expect UDLD frames to be process switched = software and sent to CPU.
Have you seen a CPU average usage increase after enabling it ?
The timers you are using can play a role in this.
Hope to help

Hello Giuseppe,
Thank you for advice.
I will change the timer from 15s(default) to 7s.
About 30 SFP interface is up and all interfaces enable udld aggressive.
It worries whether there is impact in CPUãafter changing the timer.

No... I don't have seen CPU increase.

Reiji
