Can anyone explain what is queue depth means? what that will do on switching functionality?

That depends on your applications, speed requirement, latency requirement layer-2 vs layer-3 etc...

You need to tell us a little more on what you are trying to do.

That's really useful to know, and I would like some more information.  I have some switches still running 12.2, and others running 15.0.  That might be a very good reason to update them.

Where can I read this from the CLI?  How did they manage to increase the buffer size with just a software update ... what did they sacrifice in the tradeoff?  Or if not, why didn't they do that before?

Does this apply to the 2960G as well?

Thanks in advance.

Could you provide any reference links for additional documentation on this?
