new guy, first post so don't bite my head off for putting this in the wrong place.
i have a cisco 2810 that i want to put a interface card into. Can I install without
without powering it off or interfere with the routing? It would save my weekend

no, you would need to power off the router to install the card. I dont' believe that those cards are hot-swappable.

You have this option called OIR (Online Insertion & Removal) which has to be supported by both the chassis and the card so that you plug in without powering the whole chassis off...
I doubt whether this feature is supported in low range boxes such Cisco 2800 but you still can power it off and install the same for safer insertion of the card.

No you cant insert it without powering it off.As it is 2810 modular chassis it doesn't have a ferature supporting OLI.It has feature running its IOS from the processor built in motherboard.
