"show cdp nei detail" shows a wrong IP address (10.1.1.1)

Hi,

I have a C4500 connected to a C6500 (the connection is though two switchports TengigabitEthernet (10GBSR))

When I run "show cdp nei detail" in the C4500, I got an IP 10.1.1.1 for the C6500, but this device has not that IP address.

When I run the command in the C6500, I got the right IP address for the C4500.

The "show version" for both devices is:

"show cdp nei detail" shows a wrong IP address (10.1.1.1)

Did you confirm that there is no IP configure with any interface? otherwise just confirm it by using "show IP interface brief" command

Just curious, not related, but why is the config register set to :

Configuration register is 0x2101

  • Boots into bootstrap
  • Ignores break
  • Boots into ROM if initial boot fails
  • 9600 console baud rate
