"show interface link" command

On the Catalyst 4500 series switches the "show interface link" command will display the down time for each port. What is the equivalent show command that works for the Catalyst 3560 series in particular and other Catalyst series in general?

Re: "show interface link" command

There is no equivalent in the other switches, don't know why they have not ported that feature throughout the cat line. The best you can hope in others is show interface which i believe tells you the last time it has seen input traffic but is not nearly as useful or in a form that you can look at easily.

Re: "show interface link" command

Hello Tim,

if looking for a specific port

sh int type x/y | inc ast input

tells you last input packet and this can be see as the down time of the port.

For multiple interfaces depending on your settings for logging

sh log may help looking for messages

somethinkg like:

sh log | inc down

this can be a faster way for multiple ports instead of examining a complete sh int.

Hope to help
