"Storm-Control action shutdown" on 6500 VSS

Hello everyone!

I know this might be a silly question, but im somehow unable to configure "Storm-control action shutdown" on a 6500 VSS running 12.2(17r)SX7.

I found that the command exists in the command referance of IOS 12.2SX but when I try to issue the command on the machine I get:

6500-VSS(config-if)#storm-control ?

  broadcast  Broadcast address storm control

  multicast  Multicast address storm control

  unicast    Unicast address storm control

Whether I try to configure it on the port-channel or on its members the result is the same.

What am I missing?

Hi,

What type module are you using?  Some modules don't support storm control.

When configuring traffic storm control, follow these guidelines and restrictions:

•FlexWAN Fast Ethernet port adapters and all WAN modules supporting Ethernet SPAs do not support traffic storm control.

•The following LAN switching modules do not support traffic storm control:

Hello Reza, and thank you for your reply.

I came across this documen before, we do not have any of the unsupported modules.

The thins is that storm control is enabled on the machine on few port-channels, but when i try to issue the

"Storm-control action shutdown" i get nothing. Its the same result when I try to configure it on the port-channel or on its physical interface:
