Rapid STP - HSRP on cores

Hi...

I have 6 VLANs on my netowrk... and 2 core switches (4506).

I've configured the first core to be the root primary and HSRP Active for the VLANs 10, 20 and 30.

And I've configured the second core to be the root primary and HSRP Active for the VLANs 40, 50 and 60.

But now... I dont know what should be the STP configuration of the layer 2 switches...

How should be the configuration?

Thanks

Re: Rapid STP - HSRP on cores

Follow Cisco's best practices.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps663/products_tech_note09186a0080094713.shtml#stp

You should also have an understanding of what STP is and what features are offered.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk621/technologies_configuration_example09186a008009467c.shtml

There's way too much too get into detail right now.

Read these docs.

Re: Rapid STP - HSRP on cores

Reading the docs, I understand that I must say what are the root switches on my netowrk...they will be my core switches...

So...i think I dont need do anything on the layer 2 siwtches, because, they will know who are the roots...

Am I pointed to the right way?
