Hi,

I have a 2811 router with two  CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC cables(16 cables in all) connecting to 14 devices(routers & switches), which i set up as a terminal server. I can connect to all the devices but, after about 3 weeks when i try to connect again to these devices I will be able to connect to 12/13 devices and 1/2 devices will refuse connection. Each time it does this, i restart the terminal serverand after restarting i could connect to all the 14 devices and it will work fine until about 3/4weeks before refusing connection to 1/2 devices.

Is there anything that I can do fix this recurrent problem without having to restart the terminal server?

Hi ,

Most probaly session are not getting disconnected once a login is done on each router as you said your problem solves once you reboot your router and you rare able to login and take session.

My suggestion is to configure a command in terminal server called

TermServer(Config)#line 33 48
TermServer(Config-line)#autohangup

This above command on the terminal lines will clear the line when you disconnect from a terminal line.

and check out if problem persists after configuring thsi command.

Hope this helps out your query !!

Thank you Ganesh. I will do just that and observe the performance.
