Redundency

My situation is this. We are planning on using a managed AT&T T1 at several of our locations and these T1's will be on a Cisco router. We have in place in our Admin office a Cisco 1700 with a T1 interface and a DSL for back up. Behind that is an ASA 5510 device with VPN tunnels out to these other locations. The router is maintained by a hosting company.

What we would like to do is place a router (1841 or less if possible) with security software and DSL capabilities behind the managed router to provide redundency for our VPN tunnels in the event of a managed router outage.

My question is? Will it work?

I think that this set up will work after configuring redundancy on the managed router.
