Remote Console to Catalyst Switches w/AS2509-RJ

I am currently working on finding a way to remotely access our Catalyst 3548XL switches via the console port. As I understand it, I can use the Async ports on a AS2509-RJ to connect to the console port remotely. The only problem is that I don't know how to do this. Can anyone offer some configuration suggestions along with some pointers on the cabling?

That seems like a great solution, if I had the equipment. In the end, I found an alternate solution.

Using the AS2509-RJ I already have along with a few rollover cables, I was able to telnet to each of the 8 Async (2001 - 2008) ports after adding the following to the config:

line 1 8

session-timeout 30

location To Switches

password PASSWORD

login

modem InOut

terminal-type vt100

special-character-bits 8

no exec

transport preferred none

transport input telnet

telnet break-on-ip

telnet ip-on-break

stopbits 1

flowcontrol hardware

I like the Lantronix serial concentrator. They are expensive but the ability to set each port on the concentrator to a corresponding TCP port I find very useful.
