Hi,

I am trying to remove a snmp trap host from the "show snmp" output. It is not there in the running configuration. But it shows in the "show snmp" output. Is it a bug? IOS is 12.2(18)SXF5. Platform is 7600.

DOH-7600#sh snmp

Chassis: FOX083306Y6

82231822 SNMP packets input

0 Bad SNMP version errors

691933 Unknown community name

26628956 Illegal operation for community name supplied

1 Encoding errors

195725215 Number of requested variables

453450 Number of altered variables

9094626 Get-request PDUs

44926578 Get-next PDUs

27441106 Set-request PDUs

83451021 SNMP packets output

0 Too big errors (Maximum packet size 1500)

28322753 No such name errors

285011 Bad values errors

285021 General errors

81539758 Response PDUs

1911134 Trap PDUs

SNMP global trap: disabled

SNMP logging: enabled

Logging to 172.28.1.66.162, 1/10, 1391240 sent, 287192 dropped.

Logging to 172.28.1.67.162, 0/10, 0 sent, 0 dropped.

Running configuration has only the following host configured.

snmp-server trap-source Loopback0

snmp-server host 172.28.1.67 public

Thanks,

Prakash

can you please paste the whole snmp part od the show run ?

1. I suggest firstly try connecting to your NMS platform and doing an snmp get using "public" and see if the packets being sent increases for both hosts in the "show snmp" output.

2. Also make sure "snmp-server enable traps" is in the running config.

3. Try removing them both the hosts.

no snmp-server host 172.28.1.66 public

no snmp-server host 172.28.1.67 public

check "sh snmp" and make sure both have been removed.

Let us know your results.
