Removing switch from a stack of three

We have a stack of 3 cisco swithes 3750s

WS-C3750G-24TS     12.2(25)SEB4

We plan to recover a switch from the stack as it is not needed any more The switch we plan to recover is the existing Master.

If we change the priority (switch 1 priority) and make another switch the master using command line will we have any loss of connectivity to the servers conecting to the stack ?

Any help is much appreciated

Removing switch from a stack of three

Hi,

If you change the second switch priority as 1 then that switch will be a Master and I guess there will be no connection loss.

Follow the below steps for removing a member switch from the stack use the following steps:

Step 1) Power off the stack member to be removed.
Step 2) Remove the stackwise cable from the switch.
Step 3) Issue the following command on the stack master: no switch stack-member-number provision type

Also see the below link which will help you to replace the stack master.
