removing switches from a cluster after the command switch is gone

I had a cluster, 4 switches in all. did a 'no cluster enable' on the command switch without removing the members. the members still think they are part of the cluster, and doing a 'no cluster enable' there results in an 'not the command switch' error.

from the original command switch doing a 'cluster enable' and then 'sh cluster candidates' shows the other switches, so they don't think they are part of the cluster even after the command switch is re-enabled.

any way of removing the cluster config portion from the switches that used to be members?

thanks,

Erik
